Burn Slackware 13.1
I need help on how to burn slackware 13.1 on a DVD. I know i have to use a bittorrent to download the files but after thats done what do i do? Im having troubles figuring this out thanks.
A quick relpy would be nice as im trying to figure it out as we speak |
As I can see you have Windows 7. Double-click on the image and Windows Disc Image Burner will launch. You then insert a DVD in the drive and click "Burn". The utility will automatically write the image to a DVD for you.

Well what DVD type am i supposed to be using and these are the file i have which one do i chose..
slackware-13.1-install-dvd slackware-13.1-install-dvd.iso slackware-13.1-install-dvd.iso.md5 slackware-13.1-install-dvd.iso And those are already showing up on my DVD. I need to beable to reboot this cd and for it to load up |
Any of the two files with the '.iso' (***NOT*** '.iso.md5') extension that is extremely LARGE.

It tells me to choose a program to run it..hmm?

You need to point to a bittorrent program. Which file have you downloaded?

Ryan10, please keep your question in one thread. Multiple threads for a single question is extremely bad etiquette as it A)Makes it virtually impossible to provide you with valid answers, and B) Causes cruft threads for people in the future who might have been able to simply search for a thread that could have solved their problems.

If its already downloaded then whats the next step after that..im at 64%

Here is your answer if you are running windows 7 http://windowsteamblog.com/windows/b...windows-7.aspx

Once you've downloaded it, you need to burn it on a DVD/CD (whichever you've downloaded). After that you'll just boot the computer off this DVD and you can start the installation of Slackware.

Just wait until it finishes dowloading. It might have a different temporary extension now, which prevents the correct context menu to be displayed.

Ok..i will check to do it and yes its the right file i started it before i even signed up for these forums for help..like a couple hours ago. Is the windows disk image burner automatically installed in windows 7 or is it just a program thats hidden
