Boot partition
This is the same kinda question I asked in my other thread, but I'm just wondering how I share my /boot partition. I know that when I want to share my /swap partition I just click "Add swap" but how do I share the boot? How does it work? I'm installing Slackware on a new drive, and then I want to install zenwalk and vector soon after, how to I share them and what do I need to add in my lilo.conf and fstab? Thanks

I believe in Zenwalk you tell the installer to mount /boot of Slackware, otherwise Slackware will have its own /boot.
I never share the /boot and find it a lot easier to control. I can identify each distro's kernel and supporting files by its /boot which is always a subdirectory of the system's /. |
I'm of like mind - there doesn't seem to be much, if anything at all, to gain - and potentially a lot of confusion.
There is even a slight exposure in sharing swap - e.g. suspend2 houses persistent data there across boot. |
