before installing on SCSI / RAID
Hello everybody,
I have a question before I install slackware. I installed slack on many pc's but not on such configuration as this. I have a computer with a scsi card, wich is supported by slackware (adaptec, boot CD works fine). During boot I get this: channel A: 4 discs, channel B: 1 disc. I think about putting the 4 discs in a RAID setup (need to check if the computer has hardware RAID support, but else I want to setup software...). The question is:
Should I install slack on the disc at channel B and will slackware see channel A as single disc? is it possible to boot from channel B if I install slackware there?
And if there's no hardware RAID support, and booting from channel B is not supported, is it possible to install slackware on one channel A disc, leaving the other discs alone, and create a software raid after the installation while the installation is on one of the discs in the raid array?
greetz,
