14.1 : rescue USB stick don't boot
Hi all,
During the install process, "setup" told me it couldn't install Lilo automatically on my PC
So I tried to boot with the rescue USB stick that was made during this install, but I only see error messages from Grub (previously intalled by Gentoo) : "This is not a bootable disk. Please insert a bootable floppy and press any key to try again ...".
Any clue ?
Thanks in advance

for lilo default is best to set to MBR. Did you do that. I my self like Grub2 that is part of slackware install.

I just choosed the "simple" option : Try to install LILO automatically. A few steps later, "setup" said it failed to install LILO.
Does Slackware setup script stores somewhere the log of the install ?

You can boot your slackware installation with the slackware dvd, log in as root and rerun liloconfig at the prompt.

As you suggest, I rerun liloconfig.
Last liloconfig message :
Code:

x Sorry, but the attempt to install LILO has returned an error, so LILO has x
x not been correctly installed. You'll have to use a bootdisk to start your x
x machine instead. It should still be possible to get LILO working by x
x editing the /etc/lilo.conf and reinstalling LILO manually. See the LILO x
x man page and documentation in //usr/doc/lilo-24.0 for more help. The x
x error message may be seen above. x

Here is the end of my /etc/lilo.conf :
Code:
# VESA framebuffer console @ 640x480x256
#vga=769
# End LILO global section
# Windows bootable partition config begins
other = /dev/sda1
/dev/sda2
label = Windows
table = /dev/sda
# Windows bootable partition config ends
# Linux bootable partition config begins
image = /boot/vmlinuz
root = /dev/sda6
label = Linux
read-only
# Linux bootable partition config ends
Now I guess I have to delete the line 67 : "/dev/sda2"
But how do I reinstall LILO manually ?
Thanks for your help

After deleting the /dev/sda2 line at the command prompt run I've been having the same issue lately when using liloconfig.
