A full, fresh installation went just fine with the 4.19.1 kernel. I have stock Fluxbox running in a tigervnc server. Unfortunately it looks like VNC is the only way to get a GUI within QEMU. If I remove -nographic from the disk_launch script, QEMU displays a black screen. The host machine is running QEMU 3.0.0 on Slackware64-current from Tue Nov 13 05:15:29 UTC 2018.
