syslog flood, not a problem, more like informational

syslog getting thousands of the following

This looks like a patch, I'm not using mc but I'm logged in via ssh as mentioned in the link

screen was not involved in my testcases. Only remote sessions via ssh (putty client) using TERM=linux

One can configure syslog to use separate log files. This makes it easier to separate problems or, in this case, ignore them.

I had a quick look at the Debian patch set for gpm and didn't see which one it would be, if it was ever actually fixed there. If you find it let me know.

the syslog flood of those messages was using ssh via /usr/bin/uxterm, using konsole there's no syslog message flood
