The proviso I always see on their forum with that, is as long as it does not back feed power into the pi....

You are welcome, wonderful little devices but they have their limitations, this being one of them the USB implementation on them.

They actually have LOADS of limitations (Wifi, usb, screen sizing, etc ad nauseum) but they are a cheap way out.
