Nice!

I've done the same but didn't document my process very well. One problem I had was that how things were done when the BBB was new is different from how it's done now (mostly related to device trees, capes, and u-boot configuration). There's literally a decade of information out there and it's difficult to determine what's still relevant.

Did you find it necessary to patch u-boot? I seem to remember needing some patches from beagleboard (or was it TI?). What about the kernel?

I borrowed a 5. kernel from Arch and the minirootfs from Slackware to get it to boot. Then installed the full Slackware and used the config from the running Arch kernel to build a new kernel from the Slackware kernel sources. There are a half dozen firmware files that have to be downloaded from TI. My first goal was to be able to get it working off my own kernel and not someone else's. Now I'm going to start making that kernel better, removing stuff it doesn't need and checking that the rest of the beagle functionality works.
