RT-Preempt kernel Rpi4?

Anyone has procedure or better yet pre-compiled kernel
with rt patch for rpi4? Just got me an Raspberrypi4 2Gb.
and finishing Sarpi 32bit current, installation.
I'd like to have an rt-kernel. Is there anything else
need to do other than patching the kernel with rt-patch,
and choosing fully preemptible in the config.
Anything Pi specific?

I've read about a lot of users facing lockups and all sorts of strange happenings when trying to boot an rt patched kernel on the Pis. The instructions on https://github.com/kdoren/linux/releases purports to work on the RPi3 and 4 but I haven't tested this procedure.

thanks. I'll check that.

RT-Preempt kernel Rpi4?

What does this do?

Just for the last poster RT = Real Time.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real...ts%20of%20time.

Multiuser operating systems like Linux are not good at real time tasks that require something to happen within a fixed time period. The patch makes the standard kernel into a real time kernel

Just be mindful that the https://github.com/kdoren/linux/releases patch is intended for kernel 5.10.x only. I have an inkling that the Raspberry Pi Linux repository will be updated to kernel 5.12 or 5.13 shortly. If/when that happens, or if MoZes starts shipping an updated kernel with Slackware ARM, then the SARPi Project will follow suit with whichever is most recent. Obviously you'll either need to stick with what you have at that time or keep an eye out for patch updates with regards to rt kernels.

I'm not a fan. I don't see the point when Slackware is already so blisteringly fast that Mika Hakkinen would be impressed by its speed of operation. Each to their own way, of course.

Thanks for the heads-up, I"m still wrapping my head arround it :-)

My use case is LinuxCNC, they already have Debian base release for Rpi4.
But I want to have a more lean setup that I'm more familiar with :-)
