Hi Mara,

Following 2 packages can be added for upower (useful for power management in desktop/Xfce):

l/libimobiledevice
l/libusbmuxd

Code:
# /usr/libexec/upowerd
/usr/libexec/upowerd: error while loading shared libraries: libimobiledevice.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

# /usr/libexec/upowerd
/usr/libexec/upowerd: error while loading shared libraries: libusbmuxd.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Thanks.

And so, it does not quite apply to slarm64, so I am writing in this thread.
added new kernel-source package (patched with rk3399 configuration)
kernel-source-rk3399-5.4.6-noarch-3mara.txz

kernel-module referencing kernel-source

Thanks Mara, for your work and kind help!

Installed the kernel source package, and was able to compile the module.
Its not working though. This might be because the driver might be incompatible,
or due to mismatch in kernel name and modules:

Code:
[   17.757779] 8188eu: version magic '5.4.6 SMP preempt mod_unload aarch64' should be '5.4.6+ SMP preempt mod_unload aarch64'
Something to look out for the next update.

One more thing, I have an external USB Optical drive which is not working the 5.4.6 kernel, used to work earlier.
Same drive works in Slackware current on laptop. So I figured it was configuration issue.

CONFIG_BLK_DEV_SR is unset in the next config, while its y in legacy config. Will try changing it to y, compiling kernel and check if it works.

Edit-
Also needed to enable Cd/Dvd File systems.

Thanks.

Looks like its an upstream issue, could also be with my system. Downgrading to 5.4.6 works.

Found a bug related to it upstream:
https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/ker...ngeLog-4.17.19

Will do some testing and report.

Thanks.

P.S.
Thanks for the 14Dec19-5.4.6-rock_pi_4 Xfce image, worked nicely here and even MPV worked.

Confirmed that the 5.3.8 kernel boots.

Regarding DPMS issues, thankfully noticed that the monitor suspends as expected on the xdm input screen.
Searching, came across this bug related to amdgpu: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109246

As a workaround, I am currently using openbox/fluxbox. Will try to find where the issue is exactly.

Hey Mara,

Would it be possible to run Slarm64 from a USB HDD?

If I try to set
Code:
rootdev
in SD card to HDD partition, it boots but kernel loaded is of SD card rather than USB drive.

Previously I used
Code:
setup.sh
to move install from SD card to eMMC card, but this time I need:

* Boot(loader) from SD (as RK3399 does not support boot from USB AFAIK)
* Root on USB HDD

Thanks.

Found accidentally via testing Armbian!

bootloader (u-boot and friends, stages 2 and 3 as per Rockchip) + kernel and initrd (stage 4 and 5) reside on the SD card. Rest of the rootfs resides on the USB drive.

On SD card

Set rootdev in /boot/uEnv.txt
Code:
rootdev=PARTUUID=<part-uuid-of-usb-root-partition>
On USB root partition

Create mount point for sd card:
Code:
# mkdir /mnt/sd
Bind mount the SD card via /etc/fstab
Code:
UUID=13471616-2a62-428d-b443-79998c77713c    /mnt/sd  	    ext4    noatime,nodiratime,errors=remount-ro       0       1
/mnt/sd/boot  				     /boot	    none    bind	       0       0
Thanks.

yes, you can use the setup.sh script to transfer it to the HDD and change
fstab and uEnv.txt (add), just check the rootdev=/dev/sda1 parameter

fstab like this
Code:
/dev/nvme0n1p1 on / type xfs (rw,noatime,nodiratime,errors=remount-ro)
/dev/mmcblk1p1 on /mnt/mmc type ext4 (rw,noatime,nodiratime,data=writeback,errors=remount-ro)
/mnt/mmc/boot on /boot type none (rw,bind)
/boot/uEnv.txt like this
Code:
rootfstype=xfs
rootdev=/dev/nvme0n1p1
