Raspberry Pi camera (Picam) - How do you use this thing?
Can anyone clue me in on how to get the Raspberry Pi camera (Picam) to work under SlackwareARM? (Rasperry Pi 3)
|
maybe here? to get started
plug in the cam, what sort of log messages come out? I have rpi3b using slackware current from here. I use mjpg streamer with a webcam. |
When it's plugged in, nothing comes up. I suspect (now) that my picam is bad...

note:
Those ribbon plugs might be tricky: tried every (sane) way to fit the ribbon firmly in? |
@arfon
I was considering buying one of those Raspberry Cameras myself some time ago, but due to the price/quality I choose normal USB cameras. I'm not sure what your problem actually is but I suppose you haven't enabled that camera in /boot/config.txt Here are some hints I collected a while ago: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/v...65696&p=495332 https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.co...g-raspi-config https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/v...ic.php?t=62364 And, this one might be also of interest: https://github.com/iizukanao/picam |
build the packages, wxcam or guvcview good applications
