Can anyone clue me in on how to get the Raspberry Pi camera (Picam) to work under SlackwareARM? (Rasperry Pi 3)

plug in the cam, what sort of log messages come out?

I have rpi3b using slackware current from here.

I use mjpg streamer with a webcam.

When it's plugged in, nothing comes up. I suspect (now) that my picam is bad...

note:
Those ribbon plugs might be tricky: tried every (sane) way to fit the ribbon firmly in?

I was considering buying one of those Raspberry Cameras myself some time ago, but due to the price/quality I choose normal USB cameras.

I'm not sure what your problem actually is but I suppose you haven't enabled that camera in /boot/config.txt
