libstdc++.la missing and work-around

I was trying to compile the Mate Slackbuild tree on my Slackware-ARM-current Pi3 and libstdc++.la was missing. This was a new install from the latest image. Since it's just a flat text file, I copied it from my desktop machine and dropped it into /usr/lib and was able to complete the compilation.

Just wanted to let the SARPI team know of this minor glitch so they could fix it for other builds. If this is the worse thing that happens; we're in pretty good shape. I still give the team a 100% for a great job.

Maybe see here Thu Apr 19 01:04:06 UTC 2018 <-look for this date

Kind of goes like this:

The second was to get rid of all the .la files
in the LD_LIBRARY_PATH. Really, having .la files installed has been mostly
obsolete since things began to use pkg-config instead, but it's not easy
to get rid of them unless you do it all at once.

I believe some benefit may be gained from reading the following LQ thread: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...es-4175628441/

I read the thread and can happily report that I tried building Mate on a clean slackwareARM load on my RaspberryPi3. I used the slackbuild for it that's from https://github.com/mateslackbuilds/msb. The answer as to why things happened the way they did is beyond me if I read the thread correctly so I'll just leave it as I've said twice; the slackbuild wanted libstdc++.la, I gave it one, it build. I wish I could remember the package that didn't build correctly but I do know it was near he end of the list is 'base'.
