The 'bare' Installers remain and are updated whenever a new Kernel package is released.

Note however that I do not test these Installer images regularly - I only test the full Installers that are referenced in the Install guides.
If they *are* broken I will eventually notice because the full installers are just these 'bare' installers but with the packages included, but I may not notice for a number of weeks. That said, if you find they're broken let us know here and I'll fix it.
