graphviz can't find libEGL.la

I'm attempting to build Mate 1.20 for arm and running into this issue. The package graphviz fails to build with the following error:
Code:
gvdevice_gd.c:103:27: warning: conversion to 'int' from 'unsigned int' may change the sign of the result [-Wsign-conversion]
       im->tpixels[y][x] = (color & 0xffffff) | ((0x7f - alpha) << 24);
                           ^
  CCLD libgvplugin_gd_C.la
  CCLD libgvplugin_gd.la
ar: `u' modifier ignored since `D' is the default (see `U')
/usr/bin/grep: /usr/lib/libEGL.la: No such file or directory
/usr/bin/sed: can't read /usr/lib/libEGL.la: No such file or directory
libtool: link: `/usr/lib/libEGL.la' is not a valid libtool archive
make[3]: *** [Makefile:713: libgvplugin_gd.la] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory '/tmp/msb/graphviz-2.40.1/plugin/gd'
make[2]: *** [Makefile:575: all-recursive] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory '/tmp/msb/graphviz-2.40.1/plugin'
make[1]: *** [Makefile:822: all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory '/tmp/msb/graphviz-2.40.1'
make: *** [Makefile:631: all] Error 2
Obviously, /usr/lib/libEGL.la is missing. This is provided by the mesa package on x86/64 architecture. Is there a reason why this is missing on arm? I could have sworn that this was there before. I looked through the ChangeLog to make sure I didn't miss something, but didn't see anything there.

Thanks for the help as always.

Slackware is moving to a world without libtool archive files. Some packages in x86 that used to have them no longer has, and most if not all will be gone once the 'world' rebuild is complete.
ARM's build scripts are being upgraded to remove them already.

If you create and run the shell script here:
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs.../la-files.html

My build machines presently run that script upon installation, and none of them now has a single *.la file. Give it a go - it should fix it.
