Detect Wireless Protected Setup (WPS) button press from userspace

Is it possible to detect if the WPS button on a usb wifi dongle was pressed from userspace ?
I don't use WPS but I want to use the button to prepare the device for unplugging instead of doing WPS, if I had any way of reading the button status I may be able to use that making it impossible to prapare the wrong dongle for unplugging.
