zipslack help please :)

HI,

I just entered this forums, and have done a quick search but haven't found what I am looking for. I want to run Slackware but I haven't got a fast internet connection, so I thought I would download zipslack instead. What are the main differences (execpt the size) between zipslack and 10.1?

And are there any compatibility issues between Slackware 10.1 software and zipslack stuff.

Thanks

(and great forums :p):newbie:

Zipslack is very very small ... there are no special problems, since slackware is maintaining it, but it's minimalist nature means that you will have dependancy issues all over the place.

If size is bothering you, also look at DSLinux (Damn Small Linux) which attempts much the same thing.

Better tho - get a book - or borrow time on a fast internet system: most people know someone with one. There are even Linux magazines on newstands which have full distro DVDs.

Zipslack seems pretty neet tho - fits into DOS. Let us know how you get on.

Only you havn't said *where* you are ... just "Earth - somewhere..." so I can't really judge! Chances are a university, school or internet caffee can help. Just ask. Linux enthusiasts may want a service in return...

As for where you are ... I'll give you a clue: your in sector ZZ9 pluralZ-alpha ...
