Youtube/video downloader plugins don't work in firefox anymore?

I have two computers with the latest version of firefox quantum. On one of them all of the downloader plugins work just fine, but on the other almost none of them work showing "no video found". Both computers are running Slackware64 14.2.

Does anyone have a clue why those plugins would work on one computer but not the other? My gut feeling is that it has something to do with ffmpeg or some other missing or mis-configured software.

What plugin? You can also use youtube-dl to download videos from youtube.

Video Downloader Professional for example. It has always worked on one comp but on the other it says "no video". I know about youtube-dl, but it's more convenient to download directly from the browser.

Nice, I'll try out xdman later on today!

As I said it's not one single plugin, it's all of them. One of my favorites has been Video Downloader Professional. It's first one I tried. It works on my computer, but says "no video found" on the other. The only one I could get working is kind of iffy as it opens a new tab where I have to disable ublock to download the video.

I'll try xdman and report back.
