yet more ati woes

Hi guys, right just finished installing 2.6.10 kernel on slackware, all is fine... except i am now sick to death of trying to get these ati drivers to work!... ive followed every thread i could find on them with no luck.. soon i will take the card out and stamp on it a few times to see if that will help things along.
while running # sh make_install.sh i now get a different error instead of the dead blank screen prior to the 2.6.10 kernel (i have checked everything in the kernel todo with ati chipsets etc):

root@Linux:/lib/modules/fglrx# sh make_install.sh
- creating symlink
- recreating module dependency list
- trying a sample load of the kernel module
FATAL: Kernel does not have unload support.
done.

Help!, i will honestly throw this card out for an nvidia very shortly if this persists

Ati radeon 9550
t-bird 1.1
ABIT KT7-RAID M/B
Slackware 10.1 2.6.10

Regards
Brett

Does that maybe mean you need to compiles "unloading module support" into your kernel, if so then find the section in the menuconfig that unload modules and recompile it. If thats not the issue then I don't know.

Hope I help

The script loads the module and then tries to unload it. You don't have support for unloading compiled in, so it throws a FATAL error when it tries. Nothing to worry about, go on about your business if you're not concerned with being able to unload the module..
