Yet another alsa Sound Blaster Live question

I just reinstalled slackware, and I know it can work b/c I have done it before but I just cannot get it going for the life of me. I know how great everyone is here so I was hoping that someone could take a look at my config and see what they think

This may be way off, but have you tried running alsamixer? I always seem to have to run alsamixer and unmute/turn up both the Master volume and the PCM volume. (I'm not even sure how to save the alsamixer settings. I think maybe "alsactl store"? I don't use my sound card much.:-)
