Xwmconfig and hand build package
 

Hi everybody,

i am new user of Slackware. I created the package which contains Icewm. I tried to add in to the system, but the program xwmconfig just can not see it. How to solve this problem?

hi Petr,

icewm is available on slackbuilds.org, I suggest you to use that

https://slackbuilds.org/repository/14.2/desktop/icewm/

between the files provided by the SlackBuild there's also an xinitrc.icewm that gets installed in /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.icewm, making it available for selection when you run xwmconfig.

Assuming your build was successful and installed to the expected location, you can just borrow the xinitrc file included in the 'official' slackbuild:

https://slackbuilds.org/slackbuilds/.../xinitrc.icewm

As mentioned above it goes in /etc/X11/xinit/ and should be root owned and executable like the others.
