xorgsetup not working slackware current

Hi all

This is a fresh install.

Two problems, but curing the first might fix the second.

xorgsetup just exits no message, no dialog box, nothing.

Intel i810 gives a white screen of death when configured with xorgconfig, gui works fine with vesa driver.

I got this error message (EE)AIGLX: DRI module not loaded, which is similar to another thread but expat is loaded.

I don't know about your second issue.

xorgsetup is broken in current. A bug report has been filed. To fix it open it up in a text editor and replace any /usr/X11R6 with /usr.

Thanks that worked fine, just need to tidy up xorg.conf

As I guessed it fixed the second part as well, it changed the driver from i810 to intel, I then modified it for direct rendering and all is OK.

OK still not perfect, I just got a white screen of death, time to do more research.

OK the white screen can be fixed by Fn-F11. On my laptop that is the button that switches the output of the monitor between external CRT or internal LCD, so pressing the key combination twice re-initialises the LCD monitor and fixes the problem.

Just need to find out why the problem happens in the first instance, and why not every time.

In the mean time you could just use this command

Xorg -configure

I use this some times instead of xorgconfig and it has always given me a correct config file automatically.

Forgot about that option, I will try it if I have any more trouble.
