Xorg graphic drivers

I want to upgrade to slack10 on a laptop but there's a problem, now slack10 is using Xorg rather the xf86free will the graphic drivers that work on xf still work on Xorg?

Laptops got an ATI 340 IGP card so needs the radeon driver, I've tried the vessa driver but it look teriable so that aint an option.

It should work. xorg is still almost identical to XFree86. It will change in the future but in the here and now the reason distro's are switching to xorg is because of the license XFree is asking them to agree to. As far as end users are concerned, the code is the same. The only difference you'll see is that the configuration file is called /etc/X11/xorg.conf instead of /etc/X11/XF86Config . If you look inside xorg.conf you'll find it's exactly the same as XF86Config, only the name has changed.
So don't panic.

Well I upgraded to slack 10, turns out that I didn't need the driver. Unlike xf86 the ati radeon drivers in xorg work.
