Xorg and xfce's Terminal eat up my cpu's cores
Hi! I updated my slackware (32bit) today and had an unpleasant surprise - when i run Terminal (xfce's terminal emulator), my system slows down - Xorg eats up to 60% of one core and Terminal - ~32% of another.
It looks like a bug in Terminal (or recompilation against up-to-date libs needed?), because when i run xterm, i have no such problems. Somebody experienced such system's behaviour? And what is the possible cause? I do not use any compositor, just vanilla slackware and xfce. Also, when i resize (max it, or just make it larger) Terminal's window, cpu's consumption increases proportionally. |
Hi, welcome to LQ.
See this thread. For now the advise is to wait for xfce-4.10 to appear in Slackware-current, at it will be included in Slackware 14. |
