xorg 6.8.2

Hello,

This pretty frustrating, I've spent about 2hours looking for a guide on how to install xorg 6.8.2 on my Slackware 10.0 with 2.6.11, and for the life of me I cannot find one. The only thing I have found is to do "make World". Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank,
Marc

You can find information on how to build it here: http://www.x.org/X11R6.8.2/doc/BUILD.html

You can get a pre-compiled packages from here if you want: http://www.slackware.com/pb/searchpk...ent&string=x11

if you have no special reason to compile that one from source, then
get the official Slackware packages.

If you compiled it yourself with -mcpu=whatever would you notice a big performance/feel difference?

Forrest.

Ok, I'll look for the slackware package.
I wanted to update to install the ati drivers.

Thanks,
Marc
