xfwm4 bus error on current

Hi,

After the last upgrade on current, my XFCE stops working properly. xfwm4 do not start and when I try to run manually it exists with: Bus error.

Anyone knows how to debug it? Or better, how to solve it?

Let me know if you need more detailed information.

Thank you.

at the bottom of the page are 2 commands to try at console prompt
http://ftp.swin.edu.au/slackware/sla...4/xinitrc.xfce

ensure that you have dbus running prior to trying it

I am not a slacker but report any errors you see I am sure a slacker can offer further info
but I would drop the exec bit

try
Code:
ck-launch-session dbus-launch --exit-with-session /usr/bin/startxfce4
#or
dbus-launch --exit-with-session /usr/bin/startxfce4
then try running them with root powers, if no luck

I tried but same thing, only notice this warning:

xfce4-panel: No window manager register on screen 0. To start the panel without this check, run with: --disable-wm-check.
No window manager register on screen 0. To start xfdesktop without this check, run with: --disable-wm-check.

I can run the panel from inside another window manager.

which desktop environments or window managers have you got installed that you can log into?

Leaping ahead....run the panel and see if panel appears

Code:
xfce4-panel &
2) at console prompt try a diff way to launch?

/usr/bin/startxfce4 --with-ck-launch

Despite the message xfce-panel is running.

No luck launching as you mention.

KDE is working fine in this installation, only XFCE seems to be affected.

Tks.
