xfree 4.4 & nvidia drivers
Any problems with the current nvidia drivers and xfree 4.4?
And also does gnome 2.6 require xfree 4.4? I wouldn't think so but i've noticed a lot of people upgrading to 4.4 to try and fix problems they are having with gnome 2.6.
Thanks

I've compiled the latest nvidia driver with the latest XFree 4.4 packages in current and 2.6.5 and it all seems to work fine with no errors.

same here, although I never recompiled the module after upgrading to 4.4.

Neither did I, until I realized I didn't have any OpenGL acceleration. Recompiling the nvidia drivers after going to XFree 4.4 and kernel 2.6.5 gave it back to me. Funny thing, though, the nvidia installer didn't want to recognize my kernel sources, so I uninstalled it and then reinstalled the drivers and all is good.

kernel 2.6.5, xfree86 4.4 and NVidia 5336 drivers all playing very nicely together here ('bout the only things that are!)
process:-
installed base packages(no X) from 9.1 cd, compiled kernel, compiled nvidia, installed xfree864.4 from slackware.com, voila! fast and stable
