xfce4-notifyd-config > "Settings daemon is unavailable"

I tried to access notifyd configuration today

Code:
xfce4-notifyd-config
then i got a popup windows saying "Settings daemon is unavailable"

In adition it states "Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken"

notifyd package version: 0.2.2-x86_64-2
Slackware64 (one week old installation)

(also almost all my Linux knowledge comes from that past week so bear with me)

xfconfd was running

Code:
/usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.xfce.xfce4-notifyd.Notifications.service
contains the following:

Code:
[D-BUS Service]
Name=org.freedesktop.Notifications
Exec=/usr/lib64/xfce4/notifyd/xfce4-notifyd
i guess that is about right

/usr/lib64/xfce4/notifyd/xfce4-notifyd exist

i did not really encountered any other problems with anything xfce related so far.

tbh i have no clue anymore
