XFCE Terminal is VERY slow!

Terminal-0.2.4 is VERY slow! I'm using Slackware10.2 (2.6.15). I was using this terminal emulator before with 10.1 and it was as fast as xterm.
But now the cursor moves TOO SLOW when I'm typing.
I've even compiled exo-0.3.0, vte-0.11.18, and Terminal-0.2.4 with omptimisations, but with no luck.
Anyone knows what causes the problem?

Thanks.

PS: May be you can suggest another GTK Terminal which supports antialising and is also fast as xterm...
