xfce - no keyboard and window decorations

When I log into xfce, I can't write anything and there are no window decorations at all, so I can't move the windows around the desktop with the mouse.
Some key combinations do work - like C-M-Backspace.

Then I do the following: I run the file manager, go into the /usr/bin folder and luanch xfwm4. As a result everything begins to work ok, except for any new window I would like to open afterwards.

I don't have .xinitrc file at my home directory, so I guess it uses the default in /etc/X11/xfce4/xinitrc.

This file contatins the line:
xfwm4 --daemon

so what could go wrong?

Hi alexrait,

Could it be that the Slackware package itself is incomplete or corrupt?

I'm currently using XFce 4.0.6, and I got the slackpack from here. Been working like a champ

You might also need the startup-notification package to get it running.

Keep us updated on the progress.

Cheers and good luck

Thanx for your help!

I removed the xfce4 package. Then I deleted the .xfce4 folder (just in case).
Installed your two packages, but alas, everything remained as it was before:

I still can't write anything and no windows decorations...

edit:

solved it at last!!!
I would never believe it could cause keyboard not to function.

I installed the qt-egnine once and used it to render my gtk applications. The moment I changed it back to some default gtk theme everything works well again.
