I'd really like to have something lighter than KDE, but I have problems with xfce. When I install it, first of all xfdesktop doesn't launch for some reason and has to be started manually. Second compositor is really laggy on noveau and changing it causes the problem with the initial lack of xfdesktop if it wasn't already present, Another thing is unless I'm root, icons on desktop don't light up when selected and have black background for names. Also icon grid is displaced on multi monitor.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
Since Xfce stopped updating their https://git.xfce.org/ page I've been using their projects page at the link in message #863. I have never taken enough time, apparently, to find out where they post new releases on their gitlab page.
(Gitlab is yet another site that Pale Moon cannot properly display. )
