Xfce Desktop Wallpaper Turned Orange and Other Colors.
A day or two ago my wallpaper suddenly changed colors. What was blue is now orange and what was green is blue and various shades in between.
This is not a problem with the same wallpaper image in KDE.
The same image also displays correctly in a graphics viewer on the Xfce desktop.
Any ideas on how to correct this would be greatly appreciated.....
Come to think of it, this did occur after the last round of security upgrades.
Merry Christmas to All!
Cheers!

Did you check the Brightness and Saturation controls for the Desktop (under Desktop settings)?

Hm.. Does that wallpaper is .jpeg? Other wallpapers?
As a guess:
Recent security update(Mon Dec 16 20:51:01 UTC 2013) updates libjpeg, which can be used by desktop. Try to revert that package, and we shall see what happens.

Yes, blue to orange and green to blue = Xfce saturation control somehow got changed to a negative value, like -2 or -3 or even lower. Change it back to 1.0 and see.

Yes, that was the problem.
I've never, knowingly, changed the settings so how it happened is ??????
Thanks to every one for the replies and suggestions.
Merry Christmas to All!
Now on to why Gkellm and Wine have both gone haywire, at the same time as the above problem, BTW.
Thanks, again.

Perhaps a config file was replaced and the developer who made the replacement had a strange image or the defaults changed because there's a larger or more granular range of settings allowed?

That is starting to make some sense.
At the same time the Xfce problem appeared, I started having problems with WINE and Gkrellm. After several attempts at finding solutions, I finally deleted ~/.wine and ~/.grellm2, re-started each, and, like magic, the problems disappeared. Go figure.
Happy New Year!

Happy new year to you too.
I sometimes dual-boot Debian and Slackware and I find the desktop environment config files differ between versions of the DE enough that it makes sharing a home partition a pain.
