Because i don't like the bloat KDE and GNOME have, i wanted to try a window manager with a smaller footprint. So i started with XFCE and maybe later try IceWM.
During a fresh install of Slackware 9.1 i choose XFCE as my default window manager. But when i typed starx, XFCE crashed (but not freezed). I only got the standard background of XFCE, with this error message:
Crash occurred in the panel
Please report this to
xfce4-dev@moongroup.com list
Meanwhile the panel will be restarted.
After that i could do nothing. Even ctrl/alt/delete didn't work. So i was forced to press the reset button.
Where to begin!?
I'm fairly new to Slackware, and Linux in general. Should i give up, and go back to Gnome or something? Or could you guys/girls(although i suspect there aren't to many of those here

) help me out?
Thanks!
