Xfce 4.8 with xrandr autostart on 13.1

Hi
I am openbox user and yesterday I tested new Xfce 4.8 on Slack 13.1. But problem is the same as in older release. Xrandr autostart. I use LCD connected on my notebook and autostart script in Xfce is slow, cant set right resolution on boot. System start, and blink monitor and set correct resolution 1920x1200 on LCD Monitor after 0.5 seconds. This gave my effect of 2 desktop resolution. I put my script to xinitrc. xrandr --output VGA-0 --mode 1920x1200 & but this not help. script is not executed. Then I set autostart xrandr script with GUI tool Session and Startup but nothing helps. Xfce still gave me next effect. Openbox use /home/mame/.config/autostart and have no problem set the corrent resolution of my LCD on boot. Do you know somebody about some stuff how to fix it? On the picture is the effect after boot. |
Try putting it at start of .xinitrc. That's where I put my additions.

Are you running xfce-4.8 on Slackware 13.1 or -current? I ask because there are some items in -current that xfce-4.8 needs, along with the other deps that Robby has outlined on his server.

I use 13.1 stable. Now, the problem is SOLVED. When i boot up it turned on external monitor and LVDS together. In the picture the blue screen is resolution of LVDS 1440x900 and corners of defaults wallpaper. Xfce have option that can turn off LVDS and left turn on only external LCD. With this everything works OK.
Another method is write xrandr script that can turn off LVDS of notebook and left on only LCD when is connected. But I dont need it, I was only tested Xfce and I see, the best DE or WM for me is still Openbox. Nice configuration, simplicity, and with some apps like avant window navigator and tint can looks very well. |
