xf86config not working

I have just installed slackware 10, and I am trying to run the x config. I am logged in as root, and when I type xf86config, it gives me a command not found. Also, when I list, all I have is a Desktop directory, a txt file and a zip file, where are all my other directories?

try: /usr/X11R6/bin/xorgconfig or /usr/X11R6/bin/xorgsetup
If you're using su, try su - instead.

About the files, when you list in which directory?
pwd will tell you where you are. If you unfamiliar with linux tree, run mc

Well, I guess it's normal to have just a few files after installing..
What are you looking for?

All my previous experience with linux has been from using a server shell on a gaming server, so I am used to seeing all the directories I can cd to when I type ls. I dont see any of the usr, bin, etc. directories when I ls....just seemed like something was wrong when I couldnt see all those directories I am supposed to have, and I got the xorgconf working, thanks, now I just have to figure it out..

You don't see /usr /bin /etc because you're at /root
If you do a cd .. you'll be at / type ls there and you'll see usr bin, etc
