X windows display is funked up!

Heres the deal:

i use xf86config to setup the video card etc....i have a toshiba laptop with a 16 meg geforce go. I use the nvidia driver. Set up the display and color to match the specs toshiba has posted. then when i type startx i only get half a screen of whatever window manager i picked. The text that i can see is all messed up and i cant use ctrl + alt (+) to change resolutions. Anyone have any ideas ??? I have tried almost everything i can think of I was getting a GLX error but i uncommented that line and that seemed to fix it. Please help!!

thank you

Kriptek

X usually leaves logfiles in your logdir. Have a look at errors in the files, they're called XFree.*something.log
