X Server Question

I want to install the X Server for a Slackware Box. Which one should I choose from the X Org Site? The latest has not binaries at all, and many have notations like RC0, RC1 .... I want the latest but how can I know which to download?

Just install the one included on the Slackware CD, or download a copy here:

What about other applications for it, like SANE and others? Download them separatly?

Sure. The X11 package is just the X server. Any applications / Desktop environments will have to be installed seperately.
