Aw... PayPal ain't that bad. It's not like it's Google or anything like that. "Do no evil." Pffft! What a crock.

Alien Bob (Eric Hameleers) is usually an accurate source of Slackware information. That's all I can say about that. Also, Pat V. is a member here "volkerdi", I believe. Maybe he will pop in and comment.

We don't know. Nevertheless, if you use Slackware and like it, perhaps we might show our appreciation by donating a few dollars/pounds/etc regardless of the situation.

I don't begrudge a donation.

I have my share of Slackware gear and a Slackware subscription, but, given how much I use Slackware and how much Slackware has taught me, no donations I make will even the score.

With regards to my own experiences using Slackware, I must completely agree with your statement here.

V.T. re Paypal: Yes, I suppose Paypal is at least not hypocritical like Google. OTOH, you can at least get around Paypal for a lot of things; much more difficult to get around Google.

And Frank, I couldn't agree with you more, and I'll add that's true of all FOSS in my case: I'll never be able to repay my debt.

I've sworn off most things Google. I do still watch a YouTube vid occasionally, though.

True. I'll have to agree regarding all FOSS as well.

Paypal is lame but I still use it, but Google over paypal any day. I do not get the google hate?, I use way too much free and open source software funded and hosted by Google to be a hipster and hate Google. Paypal has a history of ripping people off, holding funds and being a big douche.

I don't like that most projects have only 1 option of donating, and that is though PayPal. I refuse to give my personal information to such a big company. Also I don't want to support monopolies.

A it is against the law to mail money in most countries, your best option to show your appeciation might be to send some cans or bottles of good beer to Pat, I guess...

Citation needed.
I'm not aware of any countries where it is illegal to mail money. Risky, yes, illegal, no.

I suspect that in many countries it is more likely to be illegal mail alcohol, than money.
