Wrong password for POP mail

This has just started happening recently. This setup has worked for me for a long time, but the last time I tried to check my mail through POP, my local server says I have the wrong password ... which I obviously don't since I haven't changed my password since the last time I checked. I can ssh to the box and everything, but no matter what POP doesn't let me download mail because I have the wrong password.

I use Slackware 10 with popa3d running through inetd. Thanks for any help.

what POP email client are you using?

THo I swear by Pegasus mail, it weirded out two days ago and one of the POPs kept coming back with bad password even tho I kept putting the correct one in. I deleted the account in the client and rebuilt it and now it works again. I was blaming Webmin and had to grouse for forgiveness

Oh, I'm running Qpopper on my Slack10.0 box

The problem seemed to be too much mail on my server. I hadn't checked mail in a while and it had grown to over 1700+ individual pieces of mail and 300+MB. I deleted roughly 800 pieces of mail and it worked. I don't know if this is an issue with popa3d ... but something wasn't right.
