Won't boot after slackupdate script


I ran the slackupdate script on my new slackware 9.1 install, and now after rebooting it says

Loading Linux.....

And it just beeps constantly. Any ideas why? I get past LILO.

That early in the boot-process it's
a fair indication that your new kernel
doesn't like your hardware, that they don't
match. Like you have a SATA system but
the kernel looks for IDE, kernel thinks you're
running an opteron when really you have a
Cyrix CPU ...

/me knows why he does all upgrades manually :D

Tinkster, thanks for your reply. I didn't update my kernel and the machine was running just fine until these updates. I know I took a chance on using a software package that did this for me, but now I have learned to take care of it myself manually.

Have any other ideas? I guess I can always reinstall it, cause there isn't much on it.

Boot of 2nd installation CD, check what's screwed up ...
In linux, having to re-install shouldn't be necessary
(there may be times, I haven't had to yet, though :})

As long as the script logged what it did you
should be able to reverse it.
