Question wireless in slack 12.2

Hi every body. i have installed the slackware 12.2 on my notebook. All works right, but i want configure my wireless conection. I have read some tutorials to configure but don't work. In one of those i found a explanation to compile a program called ndiswarpper and run a windows xp driver. Ok. i make this and, incredible, its works to find my wireless network. I'm using a k wi fi manager of Kde to do this. But in the window that i use to configure the conection say me that is no Ip configured to my conection. how i configure the conection correctly?

sorry for my poor english. I'm a brazilian guy.

Hi brunoso!
Welcome to LQ.
I'm not real sharp on this stuff so I just use "wicd" which works perfect for me.
Just run:
slackpkg update
Slackpkg install wicd
Then reboot and you'll find the wicd icon on your toolbar.

Happy Slackin'

Thanks Slackass. Now i can connect to my wireless network. This program is wonderful. In 2 click's i have configured my connection. It's pretty simples to use. It's like a program in Badows Vista.

Thanks for the help. ;D

P.S. Please put the status Resolved for this thread.
