Wireless card Recommendation
I am looking to purchase a wireless card for my laptop this weekend. Does anyone have any recommendations for D-Link, NetGear, or Linksys that works well with 10.1/10.2 (minimal effort required to get going)? Thanks in advance!

i've had pretty good luck using, netgear wg311v2 and wg111v2 for my laptop, for desktop i've used linksys wmp54gv4's. All of wich worked fine after in installed ndiswrapper 1.5. i'm using kernels 2.4.31 on the desktops and 2.6.10 on the latop.
i hope this helps. |
i forgot to mention that in order to get ndiswrapper 1.5 to compile properly with 10.2 kernel 2.4.31 you will have to edit a file named usb.c on line 308. there is an #IFDEF statement,
comment it out the entire statement (only 3 lines long) with */ and /* |
I use a Broadcom 802.11g integrated wireless card and works prefectly with 2.6.13.2 kernel and ndiswrapper 1.5

B: Prisim or Hermes. The original Orinoco (aka gold classic, has a square antenna and an external antenna connector) is very well supported. G: Just about anything using the Athros chipset. The MadWifi project provides support for it. There are a few others (Prism54 and one of the TI chipsets), but I'm not familar with those. Check out the Seattle Wireless page, or the home page for the Wireless Tools for Linux (google for iwconfig), there is a ton of infomation there. |
