I got my dwl-520+ to work in slack 10.0 with kernel 2.4.26.
Installation was actually easier than I expected. I used acx100-0.2.0pre8_plus_fixes_6. Here are my hardware specs so far:
AMD athlon 2400+ XP
512 PC3200 DDR ram
nforce2 mainboard
ATI radeon 7200
DWL-520+
Audigy2 ZS
20GB HDD
and...avermedia UltraTV PC300 TV tuner
My next hurtle is adding some new hardware and upgrading kernel to 2.6.7. One of the things i'll be adding to my PCI slots is a SATA controller (yeah it really sux i dont have one on my board..sigh), does kernel 2.6.7 have complete support for this? Has anyone got avermedia UltraTV PC300 to work in a linux environment? Does kernel 2.6.7 have support for both reading and writing to an NTFS file system? Also, upgrading from 2.4.26 to 2.6.7 is pretty straightforward right? I mean all i need to do is config it then compile and put the proper image and system.map in boot or is there something else I need to do (I know about the black screen BUG and alrdy fixed it before it happens)?
Thanx guys for helpin' me out. ACX100 is POSSIBLE!!
**EDIT**
sorry I forgot to give link of a GREAT guide for install.
