Wine and WineX configs on Slack 9.1

Hey all, Its me again.... I have been running Slack now for almost 2 months as my primary operating system, though it has been frustration not having any previous unix/linux knowledge, I have found almost everything that I need here.

Trying something a little harder this week. Trying to install Call of Duty on my Slackware distro. I have Winex3.3 and I think that I may not have it configured properly. I get an error once the setup program tries to start copying the files.... Says that "The file F:\docs\DOCS\Liscense.rtf could not be opened...." Here is the strange part.... my config in my /.transgaming folder for my cdrom is this

[Drive F]
"Path" = "/mnt/cdrom"
"Type" = "cdrom"
"Label" = "F drive"
"Filesystem" = "win95"
"Device" = "/dev/cdrom"

When I go to a shell command and look in /mnt/cdrom there is a directory there called docs.....and within it is the file Liscene.rtf..... So the path to it should be F:\docs\Liscense.rtf.....but what it appears to be looking for is F:\docs\DOCS\Liscense.rtf...can anyone help me out here... I have both Wine and WineX installed and checked both of my config files..... I have also tried running the install with wine instead of winex.....and I get the same error..... Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Thanks.

Thanks for the response....but no go on the install script...... Being as I am still new...to execute this script I simply go to the dir that I downloaded it to in a terminal widow and typed...

./{name of script file}

and it returns the error "Permission denied"

when I go to terminal mode and type

su root
{password}

then run my script....I get the same "Permission Denied" error????

I thought that root had full rights...unless it is something else wrong....but thanks for the response again...and I am still trying to find the answer on my own too...but no luck so far..

Thanks again.

Are you sure the script has +x? Most things you download are set to not be executable to start with, so try chmod +x <filename>
