[SOLVED] Wine-1/6 upgrade

Does anyone know if wine can be updated without removing the ~/.wine directory (which has a lot of useful stuff in it)?

Does winecfg update the files in ~/.wine/windows ??

Yes you can upgrade wine without removing your .wine folder.

I tend to run

Code:

# removepkg wine

and then install the new one (I use the slackware packages on WineHQ)

Code:

# installpkg wine*

then

Code:

$ winecfg

Not sure if this is the best way, but I've not had any problems with this method.

i just used upgradepkg and it's fine

Thanks guys. I guess it must update ~/.wine, then.
