wifi disconnects
Hello,
I have a laptop (dell vostro 1721), with slackware64-current, and sometimes wifi disconnects. But generally this happens only once, and I can reconnect by running again /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1. So it is not heavily annoying. lspci gives: 06:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG [Golan] Network Connection (rev 02) dmesg gives: [ 6015.935934] wlan0: deauthenticated from 00:14:bf:b2:8e:7d (Reason: 7=CLASS3_FRAME_FROM_NONASSOC_STA) |
Have you tried using wicd? I have the same card in a laptop, and sometimes I just have to wait for wicd to reconnect automatically.

Yes, wicd works, but I wondered why it disconnects. Is it a kernel issue, an hibernation problem ?

I spent a bunch of time trying to figure out why, and I've come to the conclusion that it's just flaky hardware.
