Summer vacations?
:D

We all need a break every now and then.
:)

OTOH, when things go "quiet" around here sometimes there are major changes just around the corner. What is that old saying, "It is always quiet before the storm," or "It is always darkest just before dawn." Something like that.
:)

BTW, http://alien.slackbook.org/blog/ has gone missing for the last several hours.

Strange question... Why on earth would you like a change everyday ? There might be bilions of reasons not to change anything (holidays, no bugs, nothing new on sight, lots of work for integration)... There's no need for any schedule of any changes on 'current'.

(Btw, I too watch several time a day if anything new, and I'm happy when there's something to eat, it's just a happy surprise when it happens :) )

Stopped?! What are you talking about, man? The last update to -current was one week ago.
Chill out, take a walk outside, and relax. :)

In your hemisphere you are experiencing winter, but most if not all of the Slackware developers live in the northern hemisphere. That means summer. Summer means play time such as golfing, swimming, sun bathing, playing ball with the children, drinking favorite beverages, and vacations. Summer also means outdoor project time such as home repairs, remodeling, and landscaping.

42 might be an answer but nobody seems to know the question. There's more to life than computers. :)

afreitascs 07-21-2011 11:39 PM

Yes, this is winter, but is not as cold there!
Life is dialectical same! The cold freezes, but the summer is that Slackware is moving slowly ...:D

just kidding ;)

In recent times, even for Slackware such a long hiatus is not ordinary. Most of the updates in current are "just" security fixes most if not all added to stable versions as well, along with the stuff that were in testing/ in 13.37.
My own guess is PAM.

Maybe the computers are killing themselves in the extreme heat we've had here for the past little while.

Heck, If it hits 70F (21C) here I'll be in hog heaven. All this talk of heat is making me jealous. Old joints need to warmth to loosen up...

I'll trade you.

Hi,

Minnesota has been in the 90's for the past week. Known for the land of lakes, I'm sure PV is taking advantage of the warm weather.:)

Peaks here have been around 98° with a heat index as high as 110° in my area. I've been stuck inside most of the time. Do my outside chores early and then working inside to get caught up with things that are normally done during the winter season. Corn loves this hot humid weather, very tall and thick ears already. :)

I prefer middle 80's but must take what mother nature provides us.

BTW, '-current' updates during the summer have always been slow. Last update on July 14 seems normal for this time of year.

afreitascs 07-23-2011 05:02 PM

Well ... is solved then! Autumn is coming, and then everything is a matter of time ... wait to bake and eat later ...:D

Excuse the joke but also I think there is something more than the heat ... Anyway I'm probably wrong ...

Topic solved then!

Thank you all
