hi, is there any way to find out which which package a command comes from? For instance, I would like to know which slack package (*.tgz) contains the program "du".

I believe thegeekster (a member on this forum) wrote a nice script call whichpkg, and does exactly what you want to do. I will try to find the link to his post.
