My desktop PC has just about every window manager installed, and I tend to make spontaneous decisions like "I think I want to use FVWM today."
I was raised on MS/DOS before I discovered Linux, and KDE is the only environment out of all window/session managers that makes me feel absolutely comfortable in a Graphical User Environment. This includes all operating systems, whether Windows, MacOS, or OS/2.
Still though.. I keep finding myself going back to the most minimalistic environments like EvilWM or Fluxbox.
And very nice it is, especially with the genuine KDE Dolphin.
Oh geez, thank you. I'll have to free up a partition to test this. I still have a partition with what is now 14.2 32bit but began as 12.2 32bit and was incrementally upgraded each step. Once I began using 64bit 14.2 regularly I went through the major process of installing Trinity (much easier if there is no version of KDE already installed) as an experiment and despite a few missteps getting rid of KDE4 libraries, Trinity ran really great... really really snappy. The one big problem that despite my having loved Krusader back in 3.5 days was there are features in Dolphin that are just so much better.
Having Dolphin in Trinity is IMHO a huge boost. I just have to check this out! Thank you again.

I really disliked Dolphin when I started, but decided that the way it works makes giving up the things I liked in Krusader worthwhile.
One problem with installing Trinity over KDE 4 (don't know about KDE 5) is that there's no way of getting back the menus - they get overwritten by Trinity so there's no going back.
I haven't played with 4.14 yet - 4.12 still my main choice. KDE5 some, but mostly still KDE4 on boxes here. KDE has a few advantages over Xfce, I think, as a more complete DE, and does a better job organizing and categorizing *.desktop files into menu. I do like the console panel in dolphin. I switched to Xfce when KDE4 was 1st released - it was awful and bloated (esp. on my weaker hardware). Now, I have more cores, RAM, HD, and GHz to spare and KDE has trimmed up a bit. I'll no doubt switch to KDE5 for the DE built-ins (time saver) as well as Kstars which as built in support for INDI libs for astronomical gadgetry. Also, as KDE is more "mainstream," I've noted in some cases pre-built binaries are a bit better.
KDE is a great linux version and each one has been improved it
Just I have a complication with keyboard configuration in Debian KDE-5
I write in both English and Spanish but I have problem whit the accents in vowels which in previous versions I could solve.
I want to keep my system in english but my keyboard configuration as my laptop Acer but setting up it in spanish (non dead keys) the accent do not work properly (´a ´e ´i ´o ´u), also with Acer 3000 keyboard model
I've tried with locales configuration but without success, is the any suggest or proper setup directions?
what about export LANG=es_ES.UTF-8 do I keep system in english?
