Put the Truetype font TTF files in ~/.local/share/fonts and run "fc-cache -f -v".

that's it? No preparation before like enabling UTF8 mentioned in your blog?

I copied the fonts to the invisible font folder and ran the command. The response came back with recognizing the 438 fonts and notification that the cache succeeded. I opened Libre Office Writer with anticipation of my new font options and only saw the original five that came with my distro. It's progress, what next?
