Assuming you have unpacked TTF fonts you can install them manually:

cp *.ttf /usr/share/fonts/TTF
cd /usr/share/fonts/TTF
mkfontscale .
mkfontdir .
/usr/X11R6/bin/fc-cache -f

Forgot to mention, you'll need to install cabextract first (Eric has a package). Then what I did was create a directory: msofficefonts, copy README.1st, msofficefonts.SlackBuild, and all the other .txt files into it, then ran the SlackBuild. I didn't bother with the corefonts, but it should be roughly the same procedure.
